ABOUT ME
I am fully vaccinated and stay current on my boosters. I do wear masks at times, just for everyone’s protection in those months where everyone is coming down with something.
After nearly two decades in New York City, I knew my time there had ended, at least for awhile, in 2020. I packed up and made my return to California, where I had first come after college.
I spend a good amount of time talking to families, most of whom have found a new normal after the happenings of 2020 and beyond. As a result, the professional space in which I’ve found myself; a kind of family concierge space, is changing. I’ve spent the last four years cultivating connections and growing a business that reflects those changing needs.
My skills and accomplishments with children are wide and long ranging! I’ve done it all, including caring for a wide range of children spanning in age from four months to fourteen years; I've gone from setting up a birthday party at a pool, to shuttling a group of children through Central Park with all the little league equipment for ten little boys under ten years old! I've also gained experience as a tutor, through teaching older high school age children at a non profit in San Francisco, which was one of my most valued experiences.
I have a belief that children want to explore and feel supported and confident while they do it. I believe that young children learn through play, and I love being a part of that development. Familiar with RIE and Pikler parenting approaches; I believe my role is to help carry out whatever approach the parents have chosen, and I am confident in my role as a supporter of the parents.
I am a big believer in music as a learning tool. I teach simple guitar and voice to beginning musicians and love to throw dance parties to get the wiggles out! Furthermore, I'm excellent at meeting expectations surrounding screen time, and having creative activities to keep children engaged and happy.
Please find my resume attached, which further details my extensive experience and relevant skills. I'm confident I would be an asset to your family!
